En este trabajo fue clonado un fragmento de dna cromosomico ecori de 14,6kb que suprimia el fenotipo de inmunodeficiencia. Este fragmento de dna fue localizado entre las posiciones 2810-2830kb del mapa fisico de e.Coli (min 57,5 del mapa genetico). El gen responsable de la supresion fue denominado mpra. La situacion precisa de mpra fue determinada mediante analisis de insercion y de delecion del fragmento clonado. Un segmento de dna que contenia mpra fue secuenciado (528pb). El producto mpra fue indentificado en maxicelulas (20.Kda). El aumento de la dosis genica de mpra suprime el fenotipo de inmunodeficiencia mediante la reduccion de la produccion de microcina b17 a nivel transcripcional. Se construyeron mutantes cromosomicos mpra en los que confirmo el papel regulador negativo de mpra sobre el operon mccb17.  paralelamente se comprobo que el factor de integracion del huesped (ihf) es un activador transcripcional del operon mccb17. El control negativo de mpra parece ejercerse mediante el bloqueo de la activacion transcripcional producida por el ihf.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
