Para ello se ha empleado la tecnica de generacion de la frecuencia diferencia en un medio no lineal.  la radiacion procedente de un laser de ar+ y la de uno de colorante (r6g) (ambos funcionando en modo unico longitudinal y transversal, y con sistemas de estabilizacion activa de la frecuencia) se mezclan en un cristal (opticamente no lineal) de linbo3. En las condiciones en las que se cumple la condicion de ajuste de fase, se genera una onda electromagnetica a la frecuencia diferencia entre las frecuencias de las radiaciones visibles. La radiacion generada es colimada, monocromatica y sintonizable, y constituye la fuente para un espectrometro monocanal sin elementos dispersores.  el intervalo que cubre el espectrometro es 2380-4500cm-1, con una resolucion instrumental de 1.2&#215;10-4cm-1, y una relacion se\u00f1al-ruido en la linea base de los espectros de 1000:1. Las medidas de frecuencia tienen una exactitud de 0.002cm-1 y una reproducibilidad de 10-4cm-1.  se han empleado los espectros de algunas bandas de vibracion-rotacion de las moleculas de ch4 c2h4 y c2h2, registrados por otros autores con tecnicas comparables, para evaluar la calidad de los resultados obtenidos con este sistema.  asi mismo se han registrado los espectros de las moleculas de chd3
