La sintesis se ha llevado a cabo utilizando reacciones de ciclacion de friedel-crafts, reacciones de adicion de michael, reacciones de ciclacion de bischler-napieralski con oxidacion de morhle y reacciones de ciclacion de schwan.  los estudios espectroscopicos de las estructuras finales demuestran la formacion de sistemas de \u00abtrans\u00bb quinolizidinas e indolizidinas.  los derivados fenilicos de nafto(a) y nafto(b) quinolizidinas e indolizidinas, debido a su analogia estructural con derivados de nomifensina y diclofensina bien pudiesen presentar actividad inhibidora de la recaptacion de dopamina, actuando de este modo como antidrepesivos.
