Superada hoy, por la critica actual, la oposicion \u00abmodernismo\/generacion del 98\u00bb, las novelas de angel ganivet (la conquista del reino de maya y los trabajos&#8230;) Revelan su modernidad en relacion con el contexto ideologico y cultural de fin de siglo que configura el modernismo. Las novelas de ganivet representan la ruptura con la narrativa decimononica tradicional: la conquista a partir de la deformacion de la realidad a traves de distintos procedimientos satiricos, ironicos y expresionistas.
