objetivo de la tesis es actualizar los procedimientos de ensayo relacionados con la vida \u00fatil de herramienta y la maquinabilidad y buscar sus correlaciones. para ello se han analizado los ensayos llevados a cabo por diversos investigadores tratando de acortar el tiempo empleado y la cantidad de material mecanizado, se han examinado las normas de nivel nacional e internacional y procedimientos de ensayo de centros de investigaci\u00f3n y se ha estudiado la base conceptual de los elementos involucrados; herramientas, materiales, m\u00e1quinas y fluido refrigerante.  se han definido ensayos con medios de mecanizado representativos del estado tecnol\u00f3gico actual y se ha utilizado un proceso de medici\u00f3n de los desgastes, de tolerancias dimensionales y de rugosidad que permiten una elevada resoluci\u00f3n y un seguimiento detallado de la evoluci\u00f3n de estas variables.  se han aplicado herramientas estad\u00edsticas para comparar los resultados de ensayos acelerados y de larga duraci\u00f3n modificados definidos en la tesis y llevados a cabo sobre acero inoxidable austen\u00edtico, evaluando la correlaci\u00f3n de resultados en base a un criterio de vida \u00fatil basado en el desgaste en incidencia.  por \u00faltimo se han buscado correlaciones entre las variables medidas como desgaste en incidencia, desgaste en desprendimiento, rugosidad, velocidad de corte y variaci\u00f3n del di\u00e1metro mecanizado para revisar de forma cr\u00edtica los criterios que se deben utilizar como final de vida \u00fatil de herramienta.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
