Este promotor estimula la sintesis del adn renal, tanto \u00abin vivo\u00bb como \u00abin vitro\u00bb, a una concentracion en el rango de nanogramos. Su peso molecular aparente, obtenido por filtracion por gel, parece proximo a 1500 daltons: este promotor es estable al calor, resistente a la accion de la tripsina y labil a la accion de la proteasa k. Ademas, su accion parece ser especifica del ri\u00f1on pero no asi de la especie. Este promotor que parece ser un peptido de bajo peso molecular, podria jugar un papel importante en la regulacion del crecimiento renal compensador tras la uninefrectomia en la
