Es un cultivo caracter\u00edstico en las provincias de alicante y murcia. All\u00ed es un frutal alternativo para aquellas zonas donde los suelos salinos no permiten el cultivo de otros frutales.  el dr. Melgarejo tiene en la e.P.S.O., De la u.M.H., El banco de germoplasma de granado m\u00e1s importante de europa; formado por 61 accesiones de material aut\u00f3ctono, para su tipificaci\u00f3n en condiciones homogeneas de cultivo.  en este trabajo hemos realizado un prototipo de prensa de extracci\u00f3n de zumo. Hemos caracterizado seis clones por las caracter\u00edsticas morfol\u00f3gicas y bioqu\u00edmicas de su fruto.
