Siendo las principales razones para proponer a este grupo las siguientes:  1. Las tecnicas de deteccion y cuantificacion de colifagos son sencillas y economicas.  2. Los fagos de e. Coli se encuentran constantemente y en elevada concentracion en las heces humanas tanto de individuos sanos como de pacientes con anomalias intestinales de origen infeccioso.  3. Los bacteriofagos bajo condiciones optimas pueden multiplicarse en el medio ambiente.  4. Los colifagos son tambien el grupo de bacteriofagos que presenta una mayor concentracion en el agua residual, facilitandose por tanto su deteccion.  4. Los colifagos se encuentran relacionados don los coliformes fecales en las aguas naturales polucionadas, aunque y debido a la mayor supervivencia de este grupo de virus en el medio acuatico, en aguas con polucion baja la relacion desciende, siendo por tanto indicadores mas adecuados de contaminacion fecal remota.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
