Se ha desarrollado un metodo analitico por hplc en fase directa para determinar carotenoides, clorofilas y feofitinas presentes en hojas de citrus. Se ha purificado, caracterizado cineticamente y estimado el peso molecular de enzima clorofilasa de hojas cloroticas de citrus limon. Tras hacer una aplicacion foliar con un poliflavonoide de hierro, se siguen los niveles de elementos minerales, de pigmentos fotosinteticos y de actividad clorofilasa durante la fase de correccion de la deficiencia.  los resultados obtenidos constatan la influencia que ejerce la clorosis ferrica sobre los niveles de pigmentos, siendo clorofila a, clorofila b y beta-caroteno los mas afectados. Se comprueba tambien como la actividad enzimatica clorofilasa es mas alta en los arboles deficientes en hierro, lo que hace que este enzima pueda ser presentado como un indicador bioquimico de esa
