Se han clonado tambien tres genes de resistencia a oleandomicina que, junto con los fragmentos anteriores, se han utilizado como sonda para el analisis de una genoteca de este microorganismo, construida en un cosmido bifuncional. Como resultado se han podido aislar varios fragmentos de dna cromosomico de mayor tama\u00f1o que presentaron homolog\u00eda con los clones mencionados anteriormente y con otros fragmentos pertenecientes a otras rutas biosinteticas de antibioticos relacionados con la oleandomicina, como el macrolido eritromicina.  se ha estudiado una actividad enzimatica inactivante y otra reactivante de oleandomicina en s.
