Del <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En la presente memoria se aborda el estudio de los factores que afectan a las caracteristicas demograficas de las poblaciones foliares. Asi, la longevidad foliar se alarga en condiciones de stress hidrico y nutricio. El momento de abscision se adelanta y se incrementa la duracion del periodo de abscision bajo condiciones de stress hidrico. Las especies de hojas mas longevas poseen lento desarrollo foliar se ve limitada por la escasez de nitrogeno en los suelos, pero superan esta desventaja acumulando biomasa procedente de varias cohortes foliares. Tambien poseen bajas concentraciones de nitrogeno foliar, lenta adquisicion de su dotacion de nitrogeno lo que reduce la intendisdad de la demanda.  este comportamiento es propio de especies adaptadas a condiciones de stress nutricio.  la eficiencia de la retranslocacion de nitrogeno no depende del status nutricio, pero disminuye cuando se incrementa la gradualidad de la absorcion foliar, por la indeterminacion que se produce en este proceso lo cual interfiere con la \u00abprogrmacion\u00bb en la dinamica de retirada del nitrogeno desde las hojas de mayor edad. El tiempo de residencia del nitrogeno puede ser un estimador de la eficiencia en el uso del nitrogeno.
