Las rocas que afloran en la region son esencialmente detriticas y tienen edades precambrico superior y paleozoico inferior y medio. Estas rocas aparecen afectadas de forma generalizada por la orogenia hercinica que se manifiesta mediante dos fases tectonicas y da lugar a estructuras de deformacion de direccion ono-ese. Existen tambien intrusiones igneas acidas portectonicas.  la mineria en la regionha tenido gran importancia, existiedo una gran profusion de indicios mineros. La mayor parte son mineralizaciones de pb-zn y tienen geometria filoniana. Se reconocen 5 tipos distintos de estos yacimientos, representando cada uno de ellos diferentes procesos metalogenicos. El principal grupo tipologico son mineralizaciones filonianas de pb-(zn-ag)-carbonato emplazadas en fracturas distensivas generadas durante la 2 fase hercinica. La genesis de estos yacimientos esta en relacion con las intrusiones igneas postectonicas. El resto de yacimientos son mineralizaciones filonianas de pb-zn-(cu) cuarzo emplazadas en fracturas compresivas, y su genesis esta en relacion directa con los procesos tectonicos hercinicosd. Por ultimo, existe un reducido grupo de indiciods de tipo estratoide, localizados en el unico nivel carbonatado de la serie paleozoica. Su genesis se debe a procesos de contaminacion producidos por las pizarras ampeliticas situadas a techo del paquete carbonatado.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
