Henar <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El calcofluor es un fluorocromo que se une especificamente a la quitina de la pared celular de hongos y levaduras alterando el proceso de cristalizacion de las microfibrilas, lo que conduce a la lisis celular.  se han obtenido dos mutantes resistentes a este antifungico que al igual que otros dos mutantes previamente obtenidos en nuestro laboratorio, presentaban un reducido nivel de quitina en la pared, incapacidad de aumento en la sintesis de quitina por accion del calcofluor y el factor alfa, y una incapacidad de formar ascosporas maduras en diploides homozigoticos. En todos los mutantes los niveles de actividad quitinasa, la concentracion interna de udp-n-acetilglucosamina y los niveles de actividad quitin sintetasa 1 y 2 similares a los del control. Para conocer la funcion de estos genes en la celula se transformo uno de los mutantes con una genoteca construida con adn genomico silvestre en el plasmido centromerico ycp50. Se aislo un fragmento de adn de 3,9 kb conteniendo el gen cal1, de 3.297 nucleotidos.  la proteina deducida presento homolog\u00eda con los genes chs1 y chs 2.
