Se propone un modelo de celobriosa que nos ha permitido calcular las superficies de energia potencial entre los dos enantiomeros de la molecula de alanina y la celulosa cristalina. Los aspectos fundamentales que se destacan en este sistema con respecto a la discriminacion quiral son su naturaleza intrinseca y su caracter local.  se propone tambien un modelo para describir la interaccion entre una molecula de alanina y una helice de celulosa amorfa destacando en este sistema que la interaccion del tipo puente de hidrogeno es la principal contribuccion a la discriminacion quiral (tambien de caracter local).  este ultimo modelo se ha generalizado para dar cuenta de la influencia de los parametros geometricos de la helice (radio y paso) en el reconocimiento quiral,
