Aeruginosa es una bacteria de gran importancia clinica por las graves infecciones que produce, particularmente en enfermos inmunocomprometidos. El tratamiento con antibioticos en muchos casos es ineficaz por cuanto puede inducir la produccion de betalactamasas, si se utilizan concentraciones subinhibitorias. Estudiamos ocho de los antibioticos mas comunmente empleados (azlocilina, cefoperazona, cefotaxima, moxalactam, ceftazidima, imipenem, gentamicina y sisomicina) para comprobar este hecho frente a 33 cepas de p. Aeruginosa, aisladas de hemocultivos del hospital universitario \u00abvirgen macarena\u00bb.  se observo como los antibioticos mas activos fueron imipenem y ceftazidima siendo los inductores mas potentes imipenem y azlocilina.
