A partir de estos metodos se han aislado trece mutantes gib alterados en la sintesis de giberelinas que se han analizado por cromatografia hplc y marcado in vivo con (14 c) mevalonato para hacerles una caracterizacion preliminar. Estos mutantes y otros alterados en la sintesis de carotenoides nos han permitido estudiar las relaciones entre las biosintesis de carotenoides y giberelinas.  tambien hemos estudiado la regulacion de la sintesis de giberelinas por g. Fujikuroi la fuente de carbono necesaria para la sintesis de giberelinas puede venir a partir de los polisacaridos de reserva del organismo. El nitrogeno regula la sintesis de giberelinas de manera reversible; las giberelinas no empiezan a sintetizarse has que no se consume el nitrogeno; una vez comenzada, la sintesis de giberelinas de
