Los pmn se obtuvieron, a partir de sangre venosa de voluntarios sanos (metodo de wilkinson); las concentraciones de cip empleadas fueron 0.1, 1 y 5 mcg\/ml. La actividad bactericida se estudio a lo largo de tres horas.  simultaneamente se estudio la actividad bactericida extracelular de cip y la actividad microbicida de los pmn.  los resultados obtenidos demostraron que el modelo experimental utilizado fue adecuado. El tiempo de exposicion y las distintas concentraciones de cip no afectaron la viabilidad de los pmn. La actividad extracelular e intracelular de cip fue bactericida; existiendo una relacion directa entre la letalidad extracelular y el tiempo de exposicion, en grampositivos durante toda la incubacion y en gramnegativos durante la primera hora. Las tasas de letalidad extracelular e intracelular de cip fueron mas elevadas en gramnegativos que en grampositivos y estuvieron relacionadas con la actividad intriseca y el tiempo de generacion del microorganismo. Las cineticas de la actividad intracelular fueron paralelas a las cineticas de la actividad extracelular. La accion conjunta de cip y pmn fue sinergica sobre grampositivos.  la velocidad de la actividad bactericida combinada, de cip y pmn, sobre gramnegativos aumento con la concentracion, siendo muy rapida sobre s.Typhi y p.Aeruginosa. Con corynebacterium 02 existio una relacion lineal entre la letalidad y el logaritmo de la concentracion. La buena actividad y la rapidez de accion de cip, dentro y fuera de los pmn, tienen importantes repercusiones terapeuticas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
