Una de las principales razones es la sencillez del algoritmo de dibujado de esta primitiva grafica, de facil implementacion en hardware, un objeto se modelacon un unico nivel de detalle determinado po la cantidad de triangulos utilizado para construirlo. Este nivel de detalle unico es la mayor parte del tiempo inadecuado en  una apliacion de informatica grafica en tiempo real. Si el objeto esta muy proximo al observador el nivel de detalle puede ser insuficiente. Si el objeto esta alejado la calidad de detalle se pierde.  el modelado multirresolucion representa un objeto con multiples aproximaciones y permite extraer la mas adecuada de todas seg\u00fan criterios dependientes de la aplicaci\u00f3n. Un modelo multirresolucion esta formado por los datos que representan estos objetos y los algoritmos de extraccion de estos datos.  en esta tesis se presenta el primer modelo multirresolucion que utiliza la primitiva tira de triangulos tanto en la estructura de datos del modelo. como en el algoritmo de extraccion del nivel de detalle. La utilizacion de esta primitiva se dirige al fin del modelado multirresoluci\u00f3n, disminuir la cantidad de informacion que es necesario enviar al sistema grafico para dibujar un objeto como una
