Este material alcanza el primer subcultivo con mayor rapidez y necesita un menor n\u00famero de recultivos.  en la fase de multiplicaci\u00f3n in vitro cada uno de los 35 clones es propagado en seis medios de cultivo diferentes. Se aportan datos de las tasas de multiplicaci\u00f3n, desarrollo de necrosis apical y de clorosis para todos los clones. El genotipo es el factor que m\u00e1s influye en la manifestaci\u00f3n e caracteres relacionados con las tasas de multiplicaci\u00f3n, estos caracteres presentan valores de heredabilidades clonales superiores a 0,9. El medio de cultivo es el factor que explica una mayor proporci\u00f3n de la varianza para las variables desarrollo de la necrosis apical y clorosis, en esta \u00faltima caracter\u00edsticas tambi\u00e9n adquiere importancia la interacci\u00f3n clon-medio de cultivo. Se obtiene una variabilidad clonal importante, as\u00ed para clones h\u00edbridos los coeficientes de multiplicaci\u00f3n var\u00edan entre 1,96 y 8,45 dependiendo del clon. Los clones de castaneda sativa presentan tasas de multiplicaci\u00f3n in vitro medias o bajas respecto a los clones h\u00edbridos.
