Se eligi\u00f3 el ma\u00edz por ser una planta sensible a ambos herbicidas.  en todos los par\u00e1metros analizados hemos comprobado que la sintomatolog\u00eda es identica para ambos herbicidas. La germinaci\u00f3n no se va afectada, pero si el crecimiento, el cual se encuentra fuertemente inhibido en los tejidos en crecimiento. Clorsulfur\u00f3n es m\u00e1s activo, ya que se requiere aproximadamente una cantidad 7 veces menor de esta herbicida para causar los mismos efectos que con imazetapir.  como consecuencia de la inhibici\u00f3n de la actividad als producida por el clorsulfur\u00f3no e imazetapir se produce un descenso de proteina soluble y una desrregulaci\u00f3n el el contenido de aminoacidos, descendiendo los niveles de aminoacidos ramificados (valina, leucina, e isoleucina), y aumentando el contenido de otros (serina, alanina, glutamato, aspartato-asparragina, prolina, arginina, y gaba). Esta desbalance de amino\u00e1cidos parece interferir en algunas otras rutas metabolicas, ya que algunos de ellos son precursores de muchos metabolitos.  al analizar el metabolismo del carbono encontramos que los procesos fotosinteticos no estaban afectados directamente por los herbicidas, en cambio el contenido de clorofilas y carotenos disminuyo, principalmente en las hojas jovenes. Sin embargo, esto no parece afectar a la planta, ya que sigue fotosintetizando y prueba de ello es la acumulacion de azucares en hojas y raices.
