Se ha llevado a cabo el estudio de la influencia de la composici\u00f3n en las propiedades bioactivas del material, asi como la variaci\u00f3n de las propiedades dependiendo del metodo de sintesis. As\u00ed mismo, se hace especial hincapi\u00e9 en la influencia de las propiedades texturales sobre el comportamiento bioactivo de estos materiales.  la memoria se estructura en dos partes:  la primera parte aborda la sintesis y caracterizacion de vidrios obtenidos mediante el procedimiento sol-gel con contenidos de silice comprendidos entre el 65 y el 80% (mol). Se realiza un estudio de la influencia de los precursores utilizados en la sintesis de vidrios, sobre la bioactividad de los materiales. De este estudio se desprende que el empleo de distintos precursores en la sintesis del material conduce a variaciones en la homogeneidad del material obtenido, asi como en el proceso de formacion de la capa tipo apatita. Por otro lado, se estudia la influencia de la composici\u00f3n en la textura de estos vidrios bioactivos, apreciandose diferencias en la morfolog\u00eda de los poros en funcion del contenido en silice y en oxido de calcio.  en la segunda parte se estudia la sintesis y caracterizacion de fosfatos, de calcio con estructura tipo apatita, en los que se realiza la sustitucion parcial de fosforo por silicio, hasta un 3.8 % (mol) en silice. La sustituci\u00f3n propuesta se confirma mediante espectroscopia fotoelectronica de rayos x y el estudio in vitro de la bioactividad de dichos materiales puso de manifiesto la formacion de una capa
