<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El objeto de la tesis ha sido encontrar nuevas aplicaciones a las cenizas volantes procedentes de la combusti\u00f3n del carb\u00f3n y a otros residuos, mediante la recuperacion de los mismos como constituyentes mayoritarios de nuevos productos con uso potencial dentro del campo de la protecci\u00f3n pasiva contra el fuego.  con esos fines, se han estudiado las propiedades que poseen productos compuestos por cenizas volantes y residuos generados en la produccion de bioxido de titanio, en la industria siderurgica o residuos celulosicos, con vistas a su posible utilizacion en la elaboracion de productos aislantes e ignifugos, susceptibles de ser utilizados en placas de compartimentacion, puertas cortafuego o proyectados por via humeda \u00abin situ\u00bb para proteger estructuras metalicas.  en este sentido, se han desarrollado ensayos a escala piloto que han permitido evaluar las propiedades generalmente exigidas a los materiales resistentes al fuego, pudiendose afirmar que los materiales desarrollados presentan, cuando se someten a una exposici\u00f3n de temperatura analoga a la empleada en los ensayos de resistencias al fuego, datos reveladores de una alta capacidad aislante y buena estabilidad mecanica.  los resultados obtenidos pueden servir de base tecnologica para la optimizacion de los productos propuestos a escala
