Para ello, se desarroll\u00f3 un cuestionario de 40 reactivos tipo likert para ser aplicado a maestros, quienes deb\u00edan responder a \u00e9ste con respecto a ciertas caracter\u00edsticas de sus alumnos. Se aplicaron 760 cuestionarios a 85 profesores de 10 escuelas privadas bilig\u00ed\u00bces. Los ni\u00f1os cursaban kinder i, kinder ii, preprimaria y primero de primaria.  posteriormente, se llev\u00f3 a cabo un an\u00e1lisis psicom\u00e9trico, determinando que 39 de los reactivos pose\u00edan un buen nivel discriminativo (&gt;.2), y una elevada confiabilidad (alpha = .94). Se estableci\u00f3 que exist\u00eda una validez concurrente adecuada (r = .53 a r = .63) y se realizaron diversos estudios de an\u00e1lisis factorial exploratorio y confirmatorio. A su vez, se determin\u00f3 que una versi\u00f3nd e 21 reactivos explica el mismo porcentaje de informaci\u00f3n que la versi\u00f3n original, y que mide un constructo general de aptitud acad\u00e9mica compuesto por cuatro dimensiones interrelacionadas;  a,- atenci\u00f3n y persistencia  b,- interacci\u00f3n escuela-hogar  c,- desempe\u00f1o en el aula  d,- motricidad y habla  se llev\u00f3 a cabo una segunda fase de investigaci\u00f3n tres a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de haber realizado la aplicaci\u00f3n. Utilizando modelos de regresi\u00f3n jer\u00e1rquica, se estableci\u00f3 que los mejores predictores del rendimiento acad\u00e9mico son los factores de \u00abatenci\u00f3n y persistencia\u00bb y \u00abdesempe\u00f1o en el aula\u00bb. Los \u00edndices de eficiencia obtenidos se compararon muy favorablemente con los reportados por otros instrumentos, aunque a\u00fan dejan mucho que desear.
