Lo que supone la elaboraci\u00f3n de un sistema biodegradable y osteoconductor que proporcione concentraciones eficaces de antibi\u00f3tico en el foco de infecci\u00f3n y que a su vez sirva de soporte para la regeneraci\u00f3n \u00f3sea.  los implantes son evaluados en dos especies animales (ratas y conejos). los resultados indican que la cesi\u00f3n de gentamicina se mantiene al menos durante 4 semanas, obteni\u00e9ndose concentraciones superiores a las m\u00ednimas inhibitoras para el staphylococcus aureus, microorganismo que frecuentemente causa este tipo de infecciones. La valoraci\u00f3n de su capacidad osteoconductora, se lleva a cabo mediante an\u00e1lisis histol\u00f3gicos y radiol\u00f3gicos, los resultados indican que si bien, inicialmente se aprecian las secuelas del trauma quir\u00fargico r\u00e1pidamente se observa la integraci\u00f3n del implante en el tejido \u00f3seo y la formaci\u00f3n de huevo nuevo.  se establece el mecanismo de cesi\u00f3n de la gentamicina tanto in vitro como in vivo. In vitro la gentamicina se disuelve y difunde a trav\u00e9s de la matriz hasta la pel\u00edcula de recubrimiento donde se concentra y abandona el sistema por dos mecanismos: difusi\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de los poros de la pel\u00edcula y difusi\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s del film de pol\u00edmero. In vivo interviene un tercer mecanismo, debido a la vascularizaci\u00f3n que sufre el implante lo que se refleja en una mayor velocidad de cesi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos
