Los primeros estudios magnetoqu\u00edmicos se concentraron en el dise\u00f1o de compuestos de baja dimensionalidad con objeto de probar los modelos te\u00f3ricos en sistemas simples. No obstante, las posibles aplicaciones potenciales de los sitema de dimensionalidad m\u00e1s elevada motiv\u00f3 el desplazamiento de la atenci\u00f3n hacia los mismos. En ese contexto, los compuestos magn\u00e9ticos multidimensionales obtenidos usando complejos [cr(ox)3]3- y [a(cn)6]3- como ligandos frente a especies cat\u00edonicas solvatadas [b(h2o)6]b+ o complejos del tipo [b(l)(h2o)n](b-1)+ cuya esfera de coordinaci\u00f3n no est\u00e1 saturada. La s\u00edntesis de imanes de base molecular con valores de temperaturas de curie superiores a la del ambiente, imanes chirales y compuestos ferromagn\u00e9ticos exhibiendo conductividad constituyen los logros m\u00e1s importantes en este campo de investigaci\u00f3n. El inter\u00e9s por los compuestos magn\u00e9ticos de baja dimensionalidad se ha incrementado notablemente desde el descubrimiento del comportamiento superparamagnetico del agregado molecular mn12. En esta memoria proponemos una estrategia nueva de dise\u00f1o de sistemas magn\u00e9ticos de baja dimensionalidad mediante el uso, como ligandos, de oxalato- y ciano-complejos mononucleares nuevos de formulas [cr(l)(ox)2] (1= ligando bidentado) y [b(l)(cn)x](-b+1+x)- (b=fe,cr,co; l= ligando bidentado y tridentado) frente a especies cati\u00f3nica solvatadas y complejos con posiciones vacantes en su esfera de coordinaci\u00f3n. Su caracterizaci\u00f3n estructural y el estudio de su comportamiento megn\u00e9tico en funci\u00f3n de la temperatura constituyen el tema principal de esta memoria. Finalmente, a tenor de los resultados obtenidos, proponemos futuros temas de investigaci\u00f3n muy prometedores tales como el uso de compuestos de baja dimensionalidad como modelos para el estudio de
