Se utilizan diferentes sistemas catal\u00edticos con el prop\u00f3sito de mejorar la selectividad en la reacci\u00f3n de oxidaci\u00f3n de etilbenceno a valores de conversi\u00f3n razonables.  para disponer de datos referentes a la variables que operan (concentraci\u00f3n de catalizador, de raz\u00f3n molar, temperatura y velocidad de agitaci\u00f3n), se han realizado numerosas experiencias en una planta piloto a nivel de laboratorio.  el principal producto de esta reacci\u00f3n de oxidaci\u00f3n es el etilbenceno hidroper\u00f3xido y los subproductos, metilfenilcarbinol, acetofenona y fenol. El etilbenceno hidroper\u00f3xido se determina principalmente por volumetr\u00eda, aunque posteriormente se realiz\u00f3 un calibrado para su determinaci\u00f3n por espectroscopia infrarroja. el an\u00e1lisis de los subproductos se efect\u00faa mediante cromatograf\u00eda de gases y espectroscopia de infrarrojos con transformada de fourier.  las muestras con cromatogramas y espectros de infrarrojos m\u00e1s complejas en los sistemas catal\u00edticos empleados fueron analizadas por cromatograf\u00eda de gases\/espectrometr\u00eda de masas con el fin de poder averiguar informaci\u00f3n precisa acerca de qu\u00e9 subproductos traza aparecen y sus posibles mecanismos de formaci\u00f3n; y as\u00ed, esclarecer el mecanismo global de oxidaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
