Para ello se organiz\u00f3 un seguimiento de la actividad cineg\u00e9tica; una recogida de ejemplares provenientes de la caza deportiva en el poa y de los controles poblaciones en e vme, combinado esto \u00faltimo con un seguimiento de los da\u00f1os a los cultivos. Estos muestreos permitieron obtener para ambas poblaciones: una estima de la abundancia y tendencia poblacional; una buena aproximaci\u00f3n a la alimentaci\u00f3n; datos sobre la biolog\u00eda reproductiva (productividad, mortalidad intrauterina, edad puberal, \u00e9pocas de cubrici\u00f3n y parto); as\u00ed como informaci\u00f3n suficiente para describir el tama\u00f1o y crecimiento de los ejemplares.  los resultados indican que la poblaci\u00f3n del poa depende de elementos naturales inconstantes en el espacio y en el tiempo. Posee unas caracter\u00edsticas reproductivas y de crecimiento conservativas; una elevada longevidad y densidad y una estabilidad demogr\u00e1fica desde al menos principios de los a\u00f1os 70 del pasado siglo. Por el contrario los jabal\u00edes del vme dependen totalmente de productos agr\u00edcolas constantes a\u00f1o a a\u00f1o, por lo que producen da\u00f1os a los cultivos y tienen caracter\u00edsticas reproductivas y de crecimiento m\u00e1s din\u00e1micas. Su longevidad es baja. La mortalidad artificial debida a la caza es un factor no demasiado relevante en el poa y muy determinante en el vme.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
