Seg\u00fan la oms los virus de las hepatitis b y c (hbv y hcv) infectan a m\u00e1s de 350 y 170 millones de personas en todo el mundo, respectivamente. los \u00fanicos tratamientos disponibles en la actualidad implican la utilizaci\u00f3n de interfer\u00f3n. Esto unido a la falta de una vacuna frente al hcv apunta a la necesidad de profundizar en el estudio de estas patolog\u00edas. En el presente trabajo se aborda la expresi\u00f3n, purificaci\u00f3n y caracterizaci\u00f3n estructural de las prote\u00ednas de la envoltura de estos virus. Con respecto al hbv, se ha llevado a cabo la expresi\u00f3n de la prote\u00edna m del hbsag con una extensi\u00f3n de seis histidinas en su extremo amino terminal en la levadura pichia pastoris; en cuanto al hcv, se han expresado diversas formas de las prote\u00ednas de la envoltura, e1 y e2, tanto en e.Coli como en pichia pastoris. Por otro lado, el an\u00e1lisis de la secuencia de amino\u00e1cidos de la prote\u00edna s del hbv ha permitido identificar una regi\u00f3n contigua al p\u00e9ptido de fusi\u00f3n que contiene repeticiones de h\u00e9ptadas similares a las encontradas en prote\u00ednas virales fusog\u00e9nicas de otros virus. Esta regi\u00f3n se ha clonado y expresado en e.Coli con el fin de estudiar su implicaci\u00f3n en el mecanismo de fusi\u00f3n del hbv con la membrana de la c\u00e9lula hospedadora. Finalmente, utilizando la escala de hidrofobicidad interfacial de wimley y white se han detectado tres regiones en la prote\u00edna e2 del hcv con tendencia a interaccionar con membranas. P\u00e9ptidos sint\u00e9ticos correspondientes a estas regiones son capaces de desestabilizar sistemas modelo de membrana, lo que sugiere que estas regiones podr\u00edan actuar como p\u00e9ptidos de
