Nosotros proponemos un posible mecanismo e tiopatog\u00e9mico en las vitreorretinopat\u00edas en el que participan las especies reactivas del ox\u00edgeno (erox). Estas provocan da\u00f1o celular las oxidar las prote\u00ednas, los \u00e1cidos nucleicos y al interaccionar con los l\u00edpidos de membrana, ocasionando la peroxidaci\u00f3n lip\u00eddica )pl). El organismo dispone de sistemas de defensa antioxidate end\u00f3genos, tales como las enzimas super\u00f3xido dismutasa (sod), catalasa (cat) y las enzimas del sistema aldehido deshidrogenasa (aldm).  determinamos el estado oxidativo y antioxidante en la retina\/coroides y nervio optico de la rata wistar, lo que nos permiti\u00f3 poner a punto los protocolos para abordar la experimentaci\u00f3n en muestras humanas.  determinamos el estado oxidativo y antioxidante en el v\u00edtreo humano, as\u00ed como la concentraci\u00f3n de adn gen\u00f3mico.  nuestros resultados mostraron que el grupo de pacientes con rdp y el grupo con pvr presentaron niveles de formaci\u00f3n de erox significativamente superiores a los individuos del grupo de v\u00edtreos no proliferativos, confirmando la funci\u00f3n que desempe\u00f1an las erox en las vitreorretinopat\u00edas de origen angioproliferativo o fibroproliferativo. Las enzimas antioxidantes (sod, cat) presentaban una actividad significativamente menor, estado que contribuir\u00eda al predominio de las fuerzas pro-oxidantes y al da\u00f1o
