Estudiamos en primer lugar los niveles s\u00e9ricos de \u00e1cido \u00farico de 130 deportistas masculinos en contraste con 128 no deportistas elegidos al azar. De los deportistas 64 practicaban deportes de competici\u00f3n con predominio aer\u00f3bico y 66 con predominio anaer\u00f3bico.  resultados  los deportistas que entrenaron con predominio anaer\u00f3bico presentaron niveles de \u00e1cido \u00farico mayores (p&lt;0,001) que los no deportistas. Los deportistas que entrenaron con predominio aer\u00f3bico presentaron niveles de \u00e1cido \u00farico menores (p&lt;0,001) que los no deportistas.  posteriormente seleccionamos una muestra aleatoria de 10 deportistas del grupo de los entrenados con predominio aer\u00f3bico. Realizaron dos ejercicios en cicloerg\u00f3metro uno aer\u00f3bico y otro anaer\u00f3bico, tom\u00e1ndose muestras de sangre venosa antes y despu\u00e9s de cada ejercicio. Determinamos los niveles de alanto\u00edna (metabol\u00edto oxidado del \u00e1cido \u00farico), vitamina c, bilirrubinas y \u00e1cido \u00farico (como antioxidantes) y malondialdehido (marcador de peroxidaci\u00f3n lip\u00eddica). Los resultados indican que el ejercicio aer\u00f3bico no modifica los niveles de las variables estudiadas, mientras que el ejercicio anaer\u00f3bico origina disminuciones del \u00e1cido \u00farico, la alanto\u00edna (p&lt;0,05) y la urea (p&lt;0,01), no produci\u00e9ndose cambios en la vitamina c, bilirrubinas y malondialdehido. estos resultados sugieren que en los deportistas entrenados no se producen da\u00f1os por peroxidaci\u00f3n lip\u00eddica. El \u00e1cido \u00farico no parece ser oxidado durante los ejercicios aer\u00f3bicos y durante los anaer\u00f3bicos, y de oxidarse tambi\u00e9n lo hacen la alanto\u00edna y la urea.
