Su administraci\u00f3n puede producir toxicidades renal, hematol\u00f3gica y neurol\u00f3gica. Actualmente se utilizan esquemas con dosis altas (&gt;10 g\/m2) de ifos, lo que conlleva un aumento en el riesgo de aparici\u00f3n de efectos secundarios. El an\u00e1lisis de un poblaci\u00f3n de pacientes adultos tratados con este esquema nos ha permitido estudiar estas tres toxicidades. En una primera parte se ha estudiado la toxicidad renal, que produce fundamentalmente una afectaci\u00f3n subcl\u00ednica sobre el t\u00fabulo renal proximal, observando que es reversible en la mayor parte de los casos. Adem\u00e1s la ifos induce mielosupresi\u00f3n, principalmente neutropina marcada. El uso de factores estimulantes de colonias granulomonoc\u00edticas s\u00f3lo permiti\u00f3 salir antes de la aplasia, pero no contribuy\u00f3 a aumentar la actividad citost\u00e1tica de la droga. La toxicidad neurol\u00f3gica fue tolerable, sin que ning\u00fan paciente llegase a un estado de coma. Se explor\u00f3 el efecto terap\u00e9utico de la administraci\u00f3n de tiamina sobre la encefalopat\u00eda por ifos, y aunque no se ha podido establecer una relaci\u00f3n clara entre los niveles de tiamina y el desarrollo del cuadro, los datos recogidos sugieren una recuperaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s r\u00e1pida en el grupo que recibi\u00f3 tiamina.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
