En el promotor de vegf se ha identificado un elemento de respuesta a tgf-beta en la proximidad de la secuencia reconocida por el factor de hipoxia (hif-1). La tesis demuestra como el est\u00edmulo de tgf-beta sobre la transcripci\u00f3n de vegf es mediado por la v\u00eda de las prote\u00ednas smads. en condiciones de aumento de tgf-beta y de hipoxia, hif-1 contacta su secuencia consenso en la vecindad de las smads, estableci\u00e9ndose una interacci\u00f3n f\u00edsica que da como resultado neto una estimulaci\u00f3n sin\u00e9rgica de la actividad transcripcional del gen vegf. Es de destacar que la cooperaci\u00f3n a nivel transcripcional de estas dos v\u00edas, hipoxia y tgf-beta, se ha descrito por vez primera en este trabajo. Por otra parte se ha validado el modelo de la cooperaci\u00f3n hif\/smads, en otro promotor, el del gen de la endoglina, donde se forma un complejo transcripcional multiproteico incluyendo a sp1, para poner en contacto dos factores de transcripci\u00f3n cuyos sitios de reconocimiento est\u00e1n aqu\u00ed, f\u00edsicamente alejados. La cooperaci\u00f3n hipoxia\/tgf-beta, en vegf y en endoglina, se traduce fisiol\u00f3gicamente en un aumento de la angiog\u00e9nesis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
