La infancia se estudia segun una triple dimension: la faceta autobiografica, la fantasia como ambito peculiar de la infancia y las perspectivas que utiliza spielberg como discurso narrativo (ni\u00f1o, adolescente y adulto).  la tesis se centra en cuatro peliculas que responden a proyectos intimamente deseados por el director:  \u00abencuentros en la tercera fase\u00bb (1977), \u00abe.T. El extraterrestre\u00bb (1982), \u00abel imperio del sol\u00bb (1987) y \u00abhook\u00bb (1991). Tambien se incluyen los otros filmes como obras menores, sin perder de vista el criterio de personalismo infantil creativo.
