Por ello se comienza las particularidades propias de la orden y los detalles relacionados espec\u00edficamente con la persona del maestre. Se contin\u00faa luego con su intervenci\u00f3n en la reconquista y se prosigue estudiando sus relaciones con los centros de poder civil y eclesi\u00e1stico. Se analiza tambi\u00e9n la expansi\u00f3n territorial de la orden en tiempos del maestre, su labor legisladora y repobladora y su tarea de gobierno en la instituci\u00f3n. Cada uno de estos aspectos conforman un cap\u00edtulo del trabajo y, como no pod\u00eda ser menos, tambi\u00e9n se dedica otro cap\u00edtulo a la huella que el personaje ha ido dejando en la historiograf\u00eda desde los tiempos medievales a consecuencia de su faceta legendaria. Tres ap\u00e9ndices ponen a fin a la tesis: el primero es de car\u00e1cter documental, el segundo nos aproxima a un itinerario vital del maestre y el tercero de ellos refleja la evoluci\u00f3n de
