Estos fen\u00f3menos plantean serios retos a la termograf\u00eda cl\u00e1sica, a\u00fan no resueltos. El espectr\u00f3metro de imagen m\u00e1s simple es el biespectral, que suministrar\u00eda im\u00e1genes simult\u00e1neas, co-registradas y calibradas radiom\u00e9tricamente en dos bandas. Un primer objetivo de este trabajo ha sido construir un espectr\u00f3metro de imagen biespectral a partir de dos c\u00e1maras ir (una en el infrarrojo medio y otra en el t\u00e9rmico). Un segundo objetivo ha sido la extracci\u00f3n del m\u00e1ximo de informaci\u00f3n de las im\u00e1genes biespectrales adquiridas por nuestro sistema, aplicando t\u00e9cnicas de procesado espectral de imagen. En el cap\u00edtulo 5 se define el concepto de im\u00e1genes \u00edndices de fuego y se aplica a llamas y peque\u00f1os fuegos. Se estudian estas im\u00e1genes, y tambi\u00e9n de fuegos forestales, usando m\u00e9todos de clasificaci\u00f3n para optimizar la detecci\u00f3n. Se aplican los principios de detecci\u00f3n utilizados anteriormente a nuevas aplicaciones (generaci\u00f3n de mapas de temperatura de llamas, detecci\u00f3n de combustiones en situaciones l\u00edmite e identificaci\u00f3n y visualizaci\u00f3n de gases) mediante un espectr\u00f3metro hiperespectral en el infrarrojo medio, que se utiliza para seleccionar las bandas apropiadas (en n\u00famero,
