Los estudios fueron realizados tanto en fase l\u00edquida como en fase gas. La eliminaci\u00f3n de texs en fase acuosa se realiz\u00f3 con reactores en discontinuo. Los objetivos planteados en dichos experimentos fueron determinar los rangos adecuados que se deben utilizar en los ensayos (ox\u00edgeno disuelto, ph, dqo (total y soluble), ntk (total y soluble), bdo5, amon\u00edaco libre y concentraci\u00f3n de nitratos (no2) y nitritos (no3) para lograr la bioeliminaci\u00f3n de los texs. Se compar\u00f3 la capacidad de eliminaci\u00f3n de dos lodos activos, intentando mejorar la capacidad del lodo menos eficiente mediante inoculaci\u00f3n con el lodo que result\u00f3 ser m\u00e1s eficiente. A la importancia de lograr la eliminaci\u00f3n de los mencionados compuestos org\u00e1nicos, se le adicion\u00f3 al estudio la problem\u00e1tica de presentarse un exceso de amonio que es el compuesto nitrogenado que predomina como residuos en las aguas de refiner\u00eda. Por tanto, se plante\u00f3 como objetivo principal de esta otra parte del estudio el determinar los par\u00e1metros \u00f3ptimos para que los lodos activos logren la biotransformaci\u00f3n de amonio en nitratos (nitrificaci\u00f3n). los siguientes objetivos tuvieron como finalidad acoplar la capacidad de eliminaci\u00f3n de texs con la actividad nitrificante de ambos lodos. Se estudiaron los efectos que los texs, a diferentes concentraciones, tienen sobre la actividad nitrificante. Conociendo que la propia fuente de nitr\u00f3geno (ion amonico) a concentraciones elevadas puede provocar inhibici\u00f3n del proceso biol\u00f3gico, se realizaron ensayos acoplando la eliminaci\u00f3n de diferentes concentraciones de texs con un rango amplio de concentraciones de amonio.  los objetivos perseguidos en los estudios con reactores continuos en fase gas se basaron en el
