Como se\u00f1al positiva, el nitrato regula la expresi\u00f3n de genes implicados en su propia asimilaci\u00f3n, como son los trasnportadores de nitrato y nitrito (tn, tni), la nitrato reductasa (nr) y la nitrito reductasa (nir). En cuanto a procesos de diferenciaci\u00f3n, el nitrato interviene en la morfog\u00e9nesis de la ra\u00edz.  el objetivo de esta tesis doctoral ha sido el profundizar en los mecanismos de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n positiva de la ruta de asimilaci\u00f3n de nitrato de chlamydomonas reinhardtii.  mediante mutag\u00e9nesis insercional, con un gen que confiere resistencia al antibi\u00f3tico zeomicina (ble) se ha pretendido identificar posibles nuevos genes relacionados con la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n positiva del nitrato, se ha demostrado:  1,- que el gen ble no es un marcador selecionable adecuado para mutag\u00e9nesis insercional en chlamydomonas, debido al efecto mutag\u00e9nico de la zeomicina.  2,- el gen nit2 es esencial para la expresi\u00f3n de la nr.  se ha realizado un estudio de la actividad de promotores de varios genes de la ruta de asimilaci\u00f3n de nitrato (nia1, nrt2;1, nar1) fusionados al gen reportero de la arilsulfatasa como sensor de la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n positiva. se ha comprobado que el fen\u00f3meno de autorregulaci\u00f3n de nia1 se explica por una se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n persistente del nitrato debido a la ausencia de nr y a la presincia de un sistema de transporte de alta afinidad.  demostr\u00e1ndose que son los distintos sistemas de transporte de nitrato y\/o nitrito, dependiendo de su afinidad capacidad, y especificidad para transportar nitrato o nitrito, as\u00ed como otras caracter\u00edsticas de inhibici\u00f3n por otros factores ambientales, son los que regulan la concentraci\u00f3n intracelular de nitrato y as\u00ed la expresi\u00f3n de los genes que activa.  el gen nit2 tiene una regulaci\u00f3n muy precisa, est\u00e1 sujeto a represi\u00f3n por amonio pero no a inducci\u00f3n por
