Aunque el dise\u00f1o de hardware gr\u00e1fico avanza a pasos agigantados tambi\u00e9n es cierto que cada vez se pretende visualizar de forma interactiva escenas con un mayor n\u00famero de primitivas. Entre las escenas que exigen la utilizaci\u00f3n de una gran cantidad de geometr\u00eda para ser representadas destacan los entornos naturales. Este tipo de escenas se utilizan en aplicaciones de simulaci\u00f3n, realidad virtual y juegos. Es esencial la aplicaci\u00f3n de m\u00e9todos que permitan la aceleraci\u00f3n de la visualizaci\u00f3n para obtener un n\u00famero de im\u00e1genes por segundo suficiente para evitar efectos no deseados de parpadeo.  en la presente tesis, se desarrolla un modelo multirresoluci\u00f3n que permite la representaci\u00f3n de un \u00e1rbol en distintos niveles de detalle. El nivel con menor detalle representa al \u00e1rbol con s\u00f3lo seis texturas que representan el follaje y unos cuantos pol\u00edgonos para representar a las ramas. El m\u00e1ximo nivel de detalle representar\u00e1 cada hoja como un pol\u00edgono con una textura que representa a la hoja, y contendr\u00e1 todas las ramas del \u00e1rbol. La obtenci\u00f3n de los niveles de detalle autom\u00e1tica y permite la visi\u00f3n del \u00e1rbol desde cualquier posici\u00f3n y orientaci\u00f3n.
