De este modo se hizo posible el desarrollo, validaci\u00f3n e instauraci\u00f3n de un programa inter-hospitalario para la detecci\u00f3n de hemoglobinopat\u00edas en adultos y neonatos.  el m\u00e9todo establecido permiti\u00f3 la detecci\u00f3n y caracterizaci\u00f3n de 3 hemoglobinas an\u00f3malas. Dos de las cuales se describ\u00edan por primera vez, dando origen a las siguientes publicaciones:  * estudio de los componentes moleculares de la hemoglobina mediante electrospray (esi) acoplado a espectrometr\u00eda de masas (em). Aplicaci\u00f3n a la detecci\u00f3n del amino\u00e1cido responsable de la mutaci\u00f3n en la hemoglobina s. Qu\u00edmica cl\u00ednica 2001; 20(2):57-63.  * direct peptide mapping of real samples containing sickle cell and fetal hemoglobin by electrospray mass spectrometry. Rapid communications in mass spectrometry 2000, 14, 2328-2329.  * identification and characterization by high-performance liquid chromatography\/electrospray ionization mass spectrometry of a new variant hemoglobin, matar\u00f3 [beta134(h12) val&gt; ala].
