Sin embargo, para terremotos de magnitud mayora a 6,5 esta aproximaci\u00f3n resulta insuficiente, siendo necesario tener en cuenta las dimensiones de la fractura y la direcci\u00f3n y velocidad de propagaci\u00f3n de la ruptura, es decir, el efecto de directividad.  en esta tesis se presenta un estudio de este efecto de directividad, tanto en las ondas internas p y sh como en las ondas rayleigh. As\u00ed, en primer lugar se tiene un estudio de cuales son las dimensiones m\u00ednimas de la fractura a partir de las cuales hay que considerar el efecto de directividad, empleando el modelo de falla rectangular, aproximado a su vez por una serie de fuentes puntuales regularmente espaciadas.  adem\u00e1s, se presentan los programas desarrollados para calcular las dimensiones de la fractura y la velocidad de la ruptura, a partir de las observaciones de ondas rayleigh y de ondas internas p y sh.  finalmente, se presenta la aplicaci\u00f3n de la metodolog\u00eda a dos terremotos observados, poni\u00e9ndose de manifiesto la utilidad de los programas desarrollados para el c\u00e1lculo de los par\u00e1metros de la ruptura y las ventajas de la utilizaci\u00f3n conjunta de las ondas citadas,
