Carmen <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El trabajo presentado realiza un estudio de modelos animales de enfermedades neurodegenerativas, provocados por toxinas que inhiben el metabolismo mitocondrial. uno de ellos consisti\u00f3 en la inyecci\u00f3n de mpp+ en el estriado, lo que emula a la emfermedad de parkinson, y el otro, en la perfusi\u00f3n de \u00e1cido 3-nitropropi\u00f3nico (3-np) en el estriado de la rata, modelo de la enfermedad de huntington. sobre estos modelos se ensayaron diversas actuaciones de posible protecci\u00f3n, que consistieron en el empleo de hormonas sexuales, agonistas metabotr\u00f3picos de glutamato y agentes que modulan la concentraci\u00f3n de dopamina end\u00f3gena. con respecto a las hormonas sexuales, las femeninas mostraron un efecto protector sobre la toxicidad del mpp+ en el estriado, mientras que las masculinas no consiguieron paliar dicho da\u00f1o. Continuando trabajos del laboratorio donde se hab\u00eda detectado un efecto protector del dcg-iv, (agonista metabotr\u00f3pico de glutamato tipo ii), sobre la toxicidad del mpp+, se evalu\u00f3 el papel del naag, agonista del mismo grupo de receptores. El naag, sin embargo, no protegi\u00f3 frente a la toxicidad del mpp+ en el estriado.
