La primera consiste en una edici\u00f3n cr\u00edtica de la comedia, que incluye por vez primera el an\u00e1lisis de las ediciones y sueltas conocidas en las que se conserva la pieza -incluida una versi\u00f3n con leves variantes muy cercana en el tiempo a la princeps recientemente descubierta, el celoso de su honra-, as\u00ed como en una rigurosa anotaci\u00f3n filol\u00f3gica.  la segunda parte de la investigaci\u00f3n lleva a cabo la necesaria labor de recopilaci\u00f3n, an\u00e1lisis y cr\u00edtica de las numerosas interpretaciones vertidas sobre la comedia desde el siglo xvii hasta nuestros d\u00edas, una de las piezas m\u00e1s controvertidas y relevantes del teatro \u00e1ureo espa\u00f1ol.
