Recientes estudios cl\u00ednicos han demostrado que las dosis bajas, no natriur\u00e9ticas, de la torasemida son muy eficaces en la reducci\u00f3n de las cifras de presi\u00f3n arterial. Este efecto hipotensor se ha relacionado con una cci\u00f3n directa sobre la vasculatura. las hip\u00f3tesis de este trabajo es que la torasemida ejerce su efecto vasodilatador al interferir con las acciones vasculares de agonistas vasoconstrictores como la ang ii y la et-1 y que interfiere con el proceso hipertr\u00f3fico-proliferativo de las c\u00e9lulas de m\u00fasculo liso vascular en respuesta a la ang ii.  los objetivos son:  1,- describir el efecto de la torasemida sobre la tensi\u00f3n basal de los anillos sin endotelio de la aorta de rata shr y sobre la respuesta contr\u00e1ctil inducida por la ang ii y la et-1 por la t\u00e9cnica de ba\u00f1o de \u00f3rganos.  2,- describir el efecto de la torasemida sobre el metabolismo basal del calcio intracelular en cultivos de c\u00e9lulas de m\u00fasculo liso de la aorta de la rata shr y sobre el incremento de la concentraci\u00f3n de calcio citos\u00f3lico inducido por la ang ii y por la et-1. La determinaci\u00f3n de la concentraci\u00f3n de calcio intracelular ((ca2+)i) se realiz\u00f3 en subcultivos de c\u00e9lulas de m\u00fasculo liso vascular mediante espectofluorometr\u00eda y an\u00e1lisis de imagen utilizando la metodolog\u00eda del fura 2 como indicador de la ((ca2+)i).  3,- describir el efecto de la torasemida sobre el proceso hipertr\u00f3fico-proliferativo en cultivos de c\u00e9lulas de m\u00fasculo liso de la aorta de rata shr y la respuesta hipertr\u00f3fico-proliferativo inducida por la ang ii. Para esto se determin\u00f3 la incorporaci\u00f3n de 3h-leucina y 3h-timidina con un contador de centelleo as\u00ed como la proliferaci\u00f3n celular utilizando el reactivo celltiter.  4,- comparar
