El procedimiento general est\u00e1 basado en dos reacciones sucesivas (esterificaci\u00f3n y transesterificaci\u00f3n) y ha resultado especialmente \u00fatil para la preparaci\u00f3n de \u00e9steres de cadena larga dif\u00edciles de obtener por otros m\u00e9todos.  en los paag-n con n&gt;14 se han encontrado las transiciones de fase a-b y b-c, a temperaturas, t1 y t2. En la fase a las cadenas principales adoptan una conformaci\u00f3n helicoidal y se alinean en l\u00e1minas, la distancia interlaminar es proporcional a n. Las cadenas laterales est\u00e1n cristalizadas en una red hexagonal, dispuestas perpendicularmente a la cadena principal e interdigitadas. en la fase b las cadenas laterales est\u00e1n desordenadas pero m\u00e1s o menos estiradas. La fase c presenta la cadenas laterales totalmente desordenadas.  los paala-n se han obtenido por transesterificaci\u00f3n del pabla (poli(alfa-bencil beta-l-aspartato)), estos pol\u00edmeros mostraron temperaturas de descomposici\u00f3n algo distintas a las de los paala-n obtenidos mediante polimerizaci\u00f3n.  todos los pol\u00edmeros obtenidos han sido estudiados mediante dmta
