El proyecto principal del cern para la presente d\u00e9cada es la construcci\u00f3n del lhc (large hadron collider). Actualmente cuatro zonas experimentales est\u00e1n en fase de construcci\u00f3n. En una de ellas se instalar\u00e1 atlas (a toroidal lhc aparatus). El sistema de control del detector (detector control system, dcs), debe garantizar la operaci\u00f3n segura y coherente del detector, as\u00ed como garantizar la comunicaci\u00f3n entre el experimento y los sistemas externos como el de control del acelerador lhc y los servicios generales del cern.  la tesis esta dividida en dos partes. En la primera, se describen tanto el lhc como atlas y se definen los requisitos operacionales del sistema de control. En esta primera parte, tambi\u00e9n se presenta la organizaci\u00f3n l\u00f3gica del dcs y su arquitectura. El dcs reproduce la organizaci\u00f3n jer\u00e1rquica del detector en subdetectors, sistemas y subsistemas. El dcs consta de dos subsistemas: un software distribuido de back-end (be) que ser\u00e1 ejecutado en pc y los subsistemas de front-end (fe). El producto comercial scada (supervisory control and data acquisition) pvss-ii ha sido seleccionado en el marco del joint controls project (jcop), para la implementaci\u00f3n del be de los cuatro experimentales del lhc.  los subsistemas de fe son espec\u00edficos de cada subdetector y por tanto han sido dise\u00f1ados bajo la responsabilidad de los distintos grupos encargados. sin embargo, con el objetivo de proponer la homogeneidad y reducir esfuerzos durante el desarrollo y mantenimiento de los detectores, el equipo central del dcs ha desarrollado un m\u00f3dulo de i\/o gen\u00e9rico llamado embedded local monitor board (elmb). En este trabajo se realiza una descripci\u00f3n detallada de este modulo.
