Se trata de un estudio nacido del seguimiento de la evoluci\u00f3n de las plataformas digitales de televisi\u00f3n, que abarca fundamentalmente desde el a\u00f1o 1997 hasta los primeros meses de 2002. La exposici\u00f3n de los diversos temas, nos permite conocer los dos pilares b\u00e1sicos del trabajo: las estrategias informativas y comerciales seguidas por estas plataformas desde sus or\u00edgenes. De este modo, se analizan los siguientes aspectos: or\u00edgenes de la televisi\u00f3n digital y la formaci\u00f3n de los operadores; las disposiciones legales relacionadas con este sector; la distribuci\u00f3n del capital de las sociedades que comercializan y gestionan las plantaformas; las diferentes modalidades de pago; el precio de las ofertas; los contenidos que ofrecen las plataformas; la promoci\u00f3n en la televisi\u00f3n digital; la producci\u00f3n audiovisual; an\u00e1lisis econ\u00f3mico de los operadores; los abonados (perfil sociol\u00f3gico, forma de consumo,
