Dicho genoma esta constituido por 16660 pb y codifica para 13 proteinas, 2 rrnas y 22 trnas. Dos caracteristicas particulares de este genoma son la presencia de un origen de replicacion de la cadena l con un bucle rico en citosinas y la existencia de un trna ser (agy) con una estructura secundaria en hoja de trebol completa. Todos los genes codificantes de proteinas del mtdna de trucha arco iris comienzan con el codon atg con la excepcion del gen coi que empieza con el codon gtg. Por otra parte, los codones agg y aga no existen dentro de los genes ni al final de ellos. Se han identificado los transcritos de la mitocondria de trucha arco iris y se ha podido identificar un posible precursor de los mrnas 14 y 15 y, por primera vez, un transcrito del gen nd6. Finalmente se ha realizado un analisis filogenetico con los genes que codifican para el 12s rrna y el citocromo b.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
