Cualquier carencia o anomal\u00eda de dichas hormonas en per\u00edodos claves del desarrollo generan alteraciones graves, como es la deficiencia en la s\u00edntesis de mielina, llevada a cabo por los oligodendrocitos (ols). El mecanismo de acci\u00f3n de las hormonas tiroideas se rige por la regulaci\u00f3n de genes diana, mediada por sus receptores tralfa y trbeta.  en la presente tesis se ha analizado la caracterizaci\u00f3n de la generaci\u00f3n de ols en m\u00e9dula espinal de ratones con inactivaci\u00f3n de las diferentes isoformas de los receptores para hormonas tiroidea, comparando el efecto de dicha inactivaci\u00f3n con el fenotipo producido por el hipotiroidismo neonatal. en paralelo, se ha analizado el efecto de la falta de los receptores en otros dos tipos de c\u00e9lulas gliales: astrocitos y microgl\u00eda.  en resumen se ha observado que:  * la falta de ninguna de las dos isoformas del receptor para hormona tiroidea, t3, noaltera la aparici\u00f3n de los progenitores de ols en el foco ventral de m\u00e9dula espinal, as\u00ed como tampoco el patr\u00f3n normal del n\u00famero y migraci\u00f3n de los progenitores durante el desarrollo embrional.  * la falta del receptor beta provoca una tendencia a disminuir el n\u00famero de progenitores justo antes de la diferenciaci\u00f3n de progenitores o oligodendrocitos. esta disminuci\u00f3n se correlaciona con el aumento de ols diferenciados a esta misma edad. Dicho aumento es transitorio y recupera los niveles normales tras el nacimiento y manteni\u00e9ndose durante el desarrollo postnatal.
