Estas prote\u00ednas est\u00e1n directamente involucradas en la remodelaci\u00f3n del citoesqueleto de actina, y por lo tanto, de la morfolog\u00eda celular, en la adhesi\u00f3n celular, la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de componentes de la matriz extracelular, la motilidad celular, la regulaci\u00f3n de la proliferaci\u00f3n y de la apopt\u00f3sis, la citoquin\u00e9sis, el tr\u00e1fico entre estructuras membranales intracelulares y la regulaci\u00f3n de la transcripci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os un gran n\u00famero de trabajos han descrito una implicaci\u00f3n de varios miembros de la familia rho en la transformaci\u00f3n neopl\u00e1stica y el desarrollo y progresi\u00f3n de diferentes tipos de tumores humanos.  en este trabajo describimos que rhoa, rac1 y cdc42 regulan la actividad transcripcional de stat3 y stat5 en varias l\u00edneas celulares de origen fibrobl\u00e1stico y epitelial. Rhoa induce la fosforilaci\u00f3n en tirosina de stat3 (y705) y stat5a (y696), pero no stat5 (y699), lo que permite la homodimerizaci\u00f3n, translocaci\u00f3n al n\u00facleo y uni\u00f3n a dna de ambos factores de transcripci\u00f3n. en el caso de stat5 hemos comprobado que la fosforilaci\u00f3n en tirosina de stat5a se induce por lpa a trav\u00e9s de rhoa. La fosforilaci\u00f3n en tirosina de stat3 y stat5a inducida por rhoa es en ambos casos a trave\u00e9s de la tirosina quinasa jak2. Adem\u00e1s, en el caso de stat3 hemos observado que rhoa activa una ruta linear lck-jak2 que desemboca en su fosforilaci\u00f3n en tirosina y posterior activaci\u00f3n transcripcional. En cambio, el efecto de rhoa sobre la fosforilaci\u00f3n en serina de stat3 y stat5a es completamente opuesto. rhoa induce la fosforilaci\u00f3n de stat3 en serina (s727) a trav\u00e9s de la ruta mekk1\/jnk1, pero no de erk1\/2 o p38, lo que se traduce en una potenciaci\u00f3n de la actividad transcripcional del factor de transcripci\u00f3n.
