Valga como ejemplos, reacciones de apoyos en vigas, cargas m\u00f3viles de puentes-gr\u00faa, apoyo de correas en p\u00f3rticos o nudos r\u00edgidos de encuentro viga-pilar en construcciones industriales.  es muy importante, para evitar el riesgo de accidentes y sobrecostos, que tales elementos no sobrepasen, localmente, los l\u00edmites de m\u00e1xima resistencia, ya que un fallo localizado puede provocar el colapso total de la estructura.  mientras que durante las pasadas cuatro d\u00e9cadas, un n\u00famero elevado de ensayos se ha llevado a cabo en viagas armadas de gran esbeltez, por el contrario, en vigas de alma robusta, es decir, *&lt;50, el trabajo experimental ha sido escaso, lo cual no deja de sorprender dado el hecho de que la gran mayor\u00eda de los perfieles normalizados doble t en la comunidad europea pertenecen a este grupo.  el presente trabajo se basa en un an\u00e1lisis experimental usando dichos perfiles normalizados y se ha llevado a cabo por medio de una m\u00e1quina hidr\u00faalica de ensayos auxiliada por un sistema autom\u00e1tico de captaci\u00f3n de datos del laboratorio del departamento de mec\u00e1nica estructural de la e.T.S.I.I., de Madrid. Se pretende con ello contribuir al mejorar el conocimiento sobre el comportamiento y la predicci\u00f3n de la carga \u00faltima en vigas de alma robusta.  los resultados de los ensayos se han podido contrastar con los obtenidos en programas de simulaci\u00f3n que usan la t\u00e9cnica de los elementos finitos y se presentan propuestas de modificaci\u00f3n respecto a la aplicaci\u00f3n de las actuales normas europeas as\u00ed como de la formulaci\u00f3n emp\u00edrica de t. M.
